The principal objective of the program is to boost the livelihoods of rural women through handicraft promotion, agri-business, training in quality assurance and access to markets.

Alola Esperansa (AE) was established to become an income stream to support Alola’s work and to employ 30-40 weavers and sewers in Dili.

This project aims to promote the work of AE through:

  • information boards within the AE Gallery,

  • creation of a product catalogue online, and

  • establishing partnerships with local travel agencies to promote the products and production centres as sites of interest and cultural relevance.
