The Bairo Pite Clinic is an NGO that provides free healthcare to the people of Timor-Leste, caring for patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Clinic was set up by Dr Dan Murphy in 1999, originally to provide emergency medical care to serve the needs of a population affected by the humanitarian crisis. Now the Clinic provides a comprehensive community health service, with doctors, nurses, midwives, lab technicians and administrative staff.

In August 2014 ABS TV’s Foreign Correspondent broadcast “The Clinic”, a programme highlightng the day to day working of this facility and the desperate need for more funding and resources to meet the needs of the people of Timor-Leste. (for further detail on this programme go to http://www.abc.net.au/foreign/content/2014/s4065856.htm).

The Andrew McNaughtan Foundation has been giving financial support to the Bairo Pite Clinic since 2011.
